Specialty Pharmacy Times, Pharmacy Times Launch Pharmacist Feature Friday

As part of the #APharmacistIs campaign, Specialty Pharmacy Times and Pharmacy Times is starting the Pharmacist Feature Friday initiative, which will feature a pharmacist who has made significant accomplishments in the field.

To participate in Pharmacist Feature Friday, pharmacists are encouraged to post what #APharmacistIs to them on social media. Posts should also discuss why the profession is so important in today’s health care landscape and inspiring stories of how you have made a difference in a patient’s life.

Throughout the #APharmacistIs campaign, pharmacists from all walks of life have sent in photos and videos of themselves doing activities they love. The campaign serves as a year-round reminder of the importance of the profession and how dispensing medications is just the beginning.

Since the campaign launched in November, we have shared photos of pharmacists enjoying the outdoors and participating in creative activities like painting or playing an instrument.

Sharing these pictures helps highlight the fun behind the pharmacist and humanizes the profession to other health care providers and the general public. As pharmacists become more integrated in care teams, giving a more in-depth view of the profession and the people beneath the famous white coat will be crucial.

For a chance to be featured on Specialty Pharmacy Times’ and Pharmacy Times’ social media sites and even our websites, pharmacists can post short blurbs—along with a photo of themselves—on their social media sites using #APharmacistIs. Longer article submissions should be sent in to Jennifer Barrett (jbarrett@pharmacytimes.com) for review.
