Ron Lanton III, Esq, is president of True North Political Solutions, LLC. He has over 20 combined years of government affairs and legal experience. This includes activities on the municipal, state, and federal levels of government. Most recently, he worked for a pharmaceutical wholesaler where he created and oversaw the company's government affairs department, served as their exclusive lobbyist, and advocated for the company's various health care customers. Prior to that, Ron worked at a government affairs consulting firm in Arlington, Virginia, where he focused on health care, energy, commerce, and transportation issues. He has also clerked for a federal magistrate, was appointed as a municipal commissioner on environmental issues, and has served as consultant to Wall Street firms on financial issues. He has been a featured industry speaker on issues such as pharmaceutical safety and health care cost containment. Ron earned a Juris doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a bachelor of arts from Miami University of Ohio. He is also a 40 under 40 award recipient. He has been admitted to practice law in New York, Illinois and the District of Columbia.
Marc O'Connor is COO of Curant Health. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Atlanta, Curant Health treats tens of thousands of patients through its innovative medication management protocols and award-winning EMR Medplan.
William Ballough PharmD, MBA received his Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters of Business from Palm Beach Atlantic University. His interests include retail pharmacy operations, pharmacoeconomics, and new business development. Prior to his pharmacy career he was a small business owner. He currently works for Publix Pharmacy in Florida.
Hamid Zand, PharmD is the Director of Pharmacy Operations for Oso Home Care, Inc. Oso Home Care is a specialty pharmacy and home infusion provider based in Southern California. Oso Home Care offers comprehensive home infusion solutions, specialty pharmacy services and 4 ambulatory infusion centers. Hamid earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Western University of Health Sciences. His professional focus includes biotherapeutics, specialty infusion care and pharmacy process design. Andrew Abe, PharmD, originally from Mililani Town, Hawaii, earned his undergraduate and PharmD at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He completed a two-year fellowship in Drug Information and Evidence-Based Practice at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He currently manages the Drug Information Center at the University of Kansas where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice.
Lynnae Mahaney is the Executive Director of the Center for Pharmacy Practice Accreditation (CPPA). CPPA is a partnership between the American Pharmacists Association, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Steven Avey is a distinguished expert in managed care and namesake of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation’s prestigious lifetime achievement award, the Steven G. Avey Award. AMCP renamed their award in recognition of his achievements in quality measurement programs and improving drug assessment processes in the U.S. As Vice President of Specialty Programs at MedImpact, Steve is responsible for setting the overall business strategy in the specialty arena. For the past 5 years, Steve has devoted his full attention to the appropriate management of specialty medications.
Matt Johnson is the Chief Operating Officer at ASD Healthcare. Mr. Johnson joined ASD Healthcare, a company of AmerisourceBergen, in June 2012 as Chief Operating Officer after serving seven years as Vice President of Strategy at AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group. With a decade of experience in the specialty pharmaceutical business, his areas of expertise include strategic planning, informatics and technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University, a master’s in mechanical engineering from California Institute of Technology and an MBA from Auburn University.
